About Me

Hey everyone and welcome,

My name is Daniel McKenzie, a passionate and extremely determined level designer who is constantly looking to develop my skills. I enjoy seeking feedback from those around me help construct the best level block-outs through extensive iterative design.

As a level designer, I have focussed my craft on how to subconsciously guide the player through levels as naturally as possible through a range of different tools and methods, such as level composition, framing, lighting, color languages, and object placement. Promoting level flow as much as possible.

Main design fundamentals aside, I take great pride in the small details that can add to an even more memorable player experience, whether that be through in-game easter eggs or detailed environmental storytelling that makes players want to immerse themselves within the game world even more.

I have studied creative computing and Games Development at Uxbridge College (Level 3 (BTEC) Grade DDM + 4 (HNC) - 5 (HND) Grade DDM) and I have completed a CGMA course Level Design for games and graduated at the University of South Wales with an upper second-class honours degree in 2018 during which I acquired experience working on multiple game engines.

My Hobbies are: Snowboarding and working on my own video game project to improve upon my skills within each sector of Video Games Design.
